Zazen Essays by Mike Keller

I am a long-term practitioner of zazen. In January of 2017, I moved from Houston to a small city on the Big Island of Hawaii called Kailua-Kona. I began to write the essays in this collection at that time.

Some of the essays have been published in the Newsletter of the Daifukuji Soto Zen Mission in Kealakekua, Hawaii, but most have not. I wanted to give the essays more distribution, and hence this website.

There is a provision on this site for you to comment on any of the essays if you wish, and for me to respond to you if that seems appropriate. You can contact me personally through the Contact button on this page or at the top of each full essay.

In June of 2023, I returned to Houston to live.
